‘Let’s rent bikes on Palm Beach Island’, we said, ‘And let’s do it soon!’ Well, that was months and months ago, but we finally made it happen. My sister Kristen and I are best friends. We definitely don’t hang out as much as we’d like, but when we do it’s truly special. She is an AMAZING sister! In the last few years she finished school for her Nurse Practitioner, and I couldn’t be more proud of there! Pretty and smart! We had way to much fun growing up in small town Hobe Sound. Most days were spent outdoors blazing trails barefoot in the woods with the boys, or building forts in random corners of the yard, much to our Dad’s dismay. Our house backed up to Jonathan Dickinson State Park, so we were surrounded by woods. It was always an adventure. When we weren’t being total tomboys, we played dress up, tea party, My Little Pony, dolls, and pretended we were synchronized swimmers in the Olympics. I’m sure the neighbors thought we were crazy when they saw us playing dress up in the front yard. But we didn’t care, no shame in our game! Haha Our parents kept the T.V. off most of the time, but I remember watching countless hours of Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea, tearing up every time when Anne and Diana had to part ways, but promised to be bosom friends.
Those were the days!
We rented bikes from Top Cycle on Palm Beach Island. We laughed SO hard we cried, and had such an amazing time together. I love being around my sister. She’s the one person I can be a complete dork around, say anything to, and make not so flattering facial expressions to when we are being silly, and… She gets it.
So here’s to spending more sister time! Life is always going to be ‘busy,’ but the only thing that matters are the relationships we cultivate with our loved ones!
Love you sister!
