A few days with just my husband and I, no kids. Hooray! We were so excited for just those few days together. But as we left the kids with Nana and Pop Pop, we looked at one another and realized how much we were going to miss them.
Nonetheless, we needed this time alone, and we were celebrating our sixth anniversary! Wow! I can’t believe I’m typing six years! It’s just incredible how time flies!
We drove just a few hours to Palm Coast. Neither of us had been there before, and I’m so glad we went! Jay found a resort right on the ocean called Hammock Beach. We felt so at peace when we pulled in. Stunning golf course and ocean views greet you enter. We stayed in the Lodge which was even closer to the water, and left our windows open almost the whole time. Hearing the soft crashing of waves on the shore was so incredibly peaceful!
It was nice staying at the resort, because everything was there. We really didn’t have to leave. It was just easy. Besides, they bring you pastries every morning for breakfast, so what’s not to love about that? My diet totally went out the window with this one, but that’s fine by me!
We did go exploring on one of the days though, and decided it would be such a great place to bring the kiddos one day. I think we talked about them like every 5 minutes while we were away! Oh the life of a parent!
I definitely tried to put my camera down and just relax for the majority of our time away, but it’s pretty much impossible for me to not bring it along. I left my laptop at home though, so that has to count for something. Jay was proud of me! Haha
We had so much fun together, we are already planning our next ‘get away.’ Plus the kids love their Nana and Pop Pop so much, and have a blast with them. It definitely makes it easier to leave when they are in such good hands!
